
Differently-abled students taking part in a sports contest during the Special Olympics in Visakhapatnam on Saturday

The Junior Chamber International (JCI) on Saturday (August 23, 2025) organised the Special Olympics 2025 at the Police Barracks Grounds bringing together more than 900 differently-abled students from 50 schools across the region.
Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner Shankhabratha Bagchi, who inaugurated the event, called on the society, industrialists, and organisations to contribute towards nurturing diverse talents and supporting children with disabilities.
The programme was presided over by JCI Vizag President N. Charishma in the presence of zonal president A. Santosh and dignitaries including Shravan Shipping MD D. Sambasiva Rao, Tirumala Steel representative G. Ramji, Ayush Hospital MD Dr. Karri Swamy, and Kanerika Software representative Nandini
The winners were: Hearing impaired champion was Priyadarshini Service Organisation. Visually impaired champion was Netra Vidhyalaya and All-Round champion was Lebenshilfe. Physically Challenged champion was Association Sai Korean. Intellectually impaired champion was Hidden Sprouts Special School.
