C. Sivasagar, 41, an advocate hailing from Thiruthuraipoondi, lodged a complaint against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder Vijay alleging that the actor-turned-politician made demeaning remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and also the action of his bodyguards in handling a TVK party sympathiser.

In his complaint of August 24, Mr. Sivasagar said the TVK leader used words that demean the image of the Chief Minister among the public. His bodyguards literally threw a TVK party sympathiser from the ramp when the latter attempted to greet the actor-turned-politician.

The complainant sought the Thiruthuraipoondi police to register an FIR against Mr. Vijay, the police said.
