Flag marches held in Pollachi, Anamalai, Mettupalayam

The Coimbatore District Police took out flag marches at Pollachi, Anamalai and Mettupalayam towns in view of Vinayaka Chathurthi that falls on August 27 and processions for immersion of idols in subsequent days. Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police K. Karthikeyan led the marches along with senior police officers from Pollachi, Valparai and Mettupalayam sub-divisions. The marches were aimed at reinforcing public confidence in law and order machinery and ensuring peaceful celebrations. The flag march at Mettupalayam started near Abhirami theatre, passed through the bus stand road and culminated at Mettupalayam police station. The march held in Pollachi started at Marapettai junction and ended at Pollachi bus stand. Police personnel took out a flag march between Nellukuthuparai and Mukkonam junction at Anamalai.
