A meeting was held in Punjai Puliyampatti, urging the State government to create Sathyamangalam as a new district, here on on Sunday (August 24, 2025).
The meeting was organised under the banner of the Sathyamangalam District Appeal Movement and saw participation from representatives of various political parties, public welfare organisations, and farmers’ groups.
A resolution was passed during the meeting, highlighting the need for the new district. It was decided to seek support from a broad range of stakeholders, including farmers’ organisations, traders’ associations, all political parties, and various social and public welfare groups.
Participants also resolved to hold similar meetings in Thalavadi, T.N. Palayam, and Kadambur to build further support. A key part of their strategy is to study the feasibility and gather opinions from stakeholders. Following this, a petition with signatures from the public will be prepared and submitted to both elected representatives and the government for consideration.
