Industries and Commerce Minister T G Bharath said more industries are coming up in the State, with many likely to be set up in Sri Sathya Sai district due to its proximity to Bengaluru.

Speaking after a Development Review Committee meeting in Anantapur on Monday, he said investments of ₹10 lakh crore are expected, generating 8.5 lakh jobs. “Following Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s directions, we are taking all steps to ground industries interested in investing here. We aim to create 20 lakh jobs through industrial development,” he added.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav refuted Opposition claims of urea shortage, saying the government is supplying 5,000 lakh metric tonnes more than before. He added that GST reforms by the Centre would benefit the common man, and the State government would support them despite the fiscal burden. Mr. Keshav also said no eligible pensioners under the disabled persons category were removed, and the government would complete key projects including Polavaram, Amaravati capital, irrigation works, national highways, and metros.
