The Special Court for Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has awarded 20 years imprisonment to a 58-year-old man for sexually assaulting a minor girl.
According to prosecution, Muthaiah, 58, of Thambupuram near Nanguneri abducted a minor girl and sexually assaulted her in 2022. He was arrested by All Women Police, Nanguneri under POCSO Act based on the complaint from the victim’s mother.
Judge of Special Court for POCSO Cases Suresh Kumar, awarded 20 years imprisonment to Muthaiah and imposed a fine of ₹20,000 on him on Tuesday. The Judge also awarded five years imprisonment to the accused for kidnapping the girl and slapped a fine of ₹5,000.
However, the sentence would go concurrently.
