The Anna Square Police have arrested a 24-year-old youth who was waiting near the University of Madras campus with knives.
The police reached the spot on an alert from the security guard on the campus and seized three knives from him. The police identified him as Karan Metha who had lost ₹24 lakh in online gambling and incurred loss in online selling of dress materials. He decided to end his life after a meeting with his girlfriend in the university. He was given counselling by the police.
