PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday released a 103-page booklet titled Vidiyal Enge? in Chennai, claiming that the ruling DMK had fulfilled only 66 of its 505 election promises.

“These are not false allegations. These are the promises the DMK had made in its election manifesto,” he told journalists. “We have shown how they have only fulfilled 12.94% of promises, and failed as a State government,” he added.

He blamed the ruling party for not providing internal reservations for Vanniyars within the Most Backward Classes quota, and not undertaking a caste-wise survey in Tamil Nadu.

He further said the government had not implemented the old pension scheme, despite States such as West Bengal and Karnataka doing so. It has also not increased recruitment to government jobs.

He alleged that according to a report comparing States on budget allocation for education, health, and agriculture, Tamil Nadu stood in the 26th position in terms of health, 20th in education, and 15th in agriculture.

“The biggest lie of the DMK is its promise to provide 3.5 lakh jobs to the youth. It has provided jobs only to 44,000 persons, of which 15,000 were recruited as temporary workers,” he said, and challenged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s claim of having fulfilled 98% promises.

“The DMK government did not appoint the head of Lok Ayukta for more than two-and-a-half years. After I kept flagging it, they appointed the head and members. But, there has been no investigation. Is there not a single corruption case?” he asked.

Later in the evening, Dr. Anbumani participated in a rally in North Chennai. He alleged that the DMK was a corporate company, which was selling off Tamil Nadu to big businessmen. “The Outer Ring Road in Chennai was constructed at a cost of ₹2200 crore by the AIADMK government. But the DMK handed it over to a company for the next 25 years, instead of making it toll free,” he said.
