Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member Kanchumurthi Eswar and Duvvada Railway Users Association executive member K. Vijaya Kumar met East Coast Railway (ECoR) general manager Parmeshwar Funkwal in Bhubaneswar on Thursday and submitted a memorandum seeking improved amenities at the Visakhapatnam and Duvvada railway stations.
Additionally, they urged the restoration of the establishment of a coach maintenance facility at Duvvada, operation of MEMU and local shuttle services from Secunderabad to Rajahmundry and Kakinada via Visakhapatnam. They also appealed for the halt of the Vande Bharat express from Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad at Duvvada, the establishment of a Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter in the existing general booking counter at platform no. 4 at Duvvada and the augmentation of 2 AC, 3 AC, 3 E coaches to the Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Double Decker (22707/08).
