Constable placed under suspension for attacking differently abled person

Ramanathapuram Superintendent of Police G. Chandeesh through a press statement informed that the Peraiyur special branch constable Lingasamy was suspended following an altercation with a differently abled person.  

As the police and the differently abled person P. Thangavel got into an argument, Lingasamy allegedly slapped Thangavel.  

In retaliation, Thangavel, using an iron rod from his vehicle (meant for differently abled use) stuck the left side of the policeman’s head, causing a bleeding injury.  

Subsequently, Lingasamy grabbed the rod and hit him back on his hands and legs. Following this, both were admitted to the hospital for treatment. 

Based on the incident, cases were registered on both Lingasamy and Thangavel. Later, Lingasamy was also placed under suspension.
