A fresh spell of rain hit Bengaluru in the evening on August 28, 2025.
Commuters in Bengaluru struggled on August 28 evening as fresh spells of rain left major junctions in the city waterlogged, bringing traffic movement to a standstill in several areas.
Parts of the Central Business District (CBD), Tumakuru Road, Nagawara, Ballari Road, Koramangala, and Jnanabharathi experienced severe traffic congestion. Traffic personnel deployed on the ground were seen clearing waterlogged stretches at several locations.
Dommasandra towards Kodathi Gate, Sony World Junction towards Srinivagilu Junction, Madival Police Station towards Silk Board, Madival Police Station towards S.P. Road Aiyappa underpass, and Shivananda Circle towards Nehru Circle witnessed slow-moving traffic due to severe waterlogging, according to Bengaluru Traffic Police.
According to data from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), 11 trees were uprooted, and at least 15 incidents of snapped branches were reported across the city.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers for August 29.
