With flood level increasing at Polavaram project, the Revenue and Irrigation department officials asked the people staying in the downstream of the project to be alert.

Water level at Polavaram project was recorded at 31.850 metres on Friday (August 29, 2025) and the Irrigation authorities released about 8.26 lakh cusecs to the downstream.

However, flood level in Godavari and Krishna rivers was falling. Flood level at Bhadrachalam was recorded at 37.50 feet.

Irrigation department officials discharged about 3.94 lakh cusecs from Prakasam barrage, and the first warning has been withdrawn, the officials said.

Outflow from Srisailam dam was about 3.37 lakh cusecs, from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam officials released 2.47 lakh cusecs and 2.10 lakh cusecs were discharged to the downstream from Pulichintala project on Friday.

Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) Managing Director Prakhar Jain has appealed to the people to stay alert and not to cross the rivulets, streams and canals which were in spate.
