The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out surprise checks at two government-run hostels in the State on Friday, flagging irregularities, and submitted a report to the State government for further action.
Teams from Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar ACB units inspected the Government Scheduled Castes Development Department Girls Hostel in Ramannapet, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, and the Telangana Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College for Boys at Damargidda, located at Singareni X Roads in Narayanpet town.
The inspections, conducted with the assistance of officials from the Legal Metrology, Sanitation, Food Safety and Audit departments, examined the quality and quantity of food supplied, sanitation facilities, student strength records and hostel registers.
According to the ACB, several irregularities were noticed during the searches. Details of the findings have been forwarded to the government against the concerned officials for necessary action.
The Bureau urged people to report instances of bribery by contacting its toll-free helpline 1064 or through WhatsApp and social media platforms, assuring that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
