Two consignments of cannabis were seized by the Warangal excise enforcement teams in separate operations on Friday.

In the first case, the enforcement team found a large package near the railway tracks close to railway station in Nekkonda. The package was found to contain 450 kilograms of cannabis disguised as jaggery.

Excise Enforcement D team Inspector Nagaraju confirmed that no suspects had been apprehended in connection with the seizure, and the contraband was handed over to Narsampet excise station for further investigation.

In the second operation, following a tip-off, an enforcement team along with the Warangal railway police carried out inspections at Warangal Railway Station. During the search, they discovered an unattended bag near the station’s exit gate. On opening it, officials found six kilograms of ganja. The consignment, valued at around ₹3 lakh, was handed over to the Warangal excise station for further investigation.

Excise officials said investigations are under way to trace those behind both consignments.
