Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday (August 30, 2025) said that the Election Commission of India’s calculations would not succeed in the Bihar elections.
Speaking to journalists at the airport before departing for Germany and the United Kingdom to attract investments to Tamil Nadu, Mr. Stalin said he had already visited Bihar and was speaking from ground experience. “The Election Commission’s actions have actually awakened the people,” he said.
In response to a question on poll predictions, he remarked that any prediction that the DMK alliance would not win the election would be proven wrong, he said.
Asked whether the Election Commission of India would adopt similar tactics in Tamil Nadu, Mr. Stalin responded that the State had the strength to overcome any conspiracy.
When his attention was drawn to actor and Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam founder Vijay’s claim that the 2026 Assembly election would be a direct contest between his party and the DMK, Mr Stalin declined to comment. “I would rather focus on action,” he said.
Asked whether new parties would join the DMK alliance, he stated that new voters were gravitating towards the DMK.
The Chief Minister noted that, at Oxford University, he would take part in the centenary celebrations of the Self-Respect Movement and unveil a portrait of Dravidar Kazhagam founder Periyar.
Mr. Stalin explained that since his government had assumed office in 2021, it had attracted investments totalling ₹10,62,752 crore through 922 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
These MoUs have generated 32,81,032 jobs, and most of the projects are nearing completion. “The data released by the Union government stands as proof, for all those who doubted Tamil Nadu’s growth and questioned its production capabilities,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that he had successfully brought in investments amounting to ₹18,498 crore during his previous visits to the UAE, Singapore, the USA, Japan, and Spain, by highlighting that Tamil Nadu is a peaceful state with abundant talent and investment potential.
“23 of the 36 MoUs signed during my visits have shown significant progress,” he said. The Chief Minister is scheduled to return on 8 September.
