A Ganesh idol resembling Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was replaced on August 28 at a pandal in Bhoiguda, Habeebnagar, a day before police visited the site as part of routine checks.

The idol had been installed by Fisheries Federation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar but was reportedly removed after he received calls objecting to the depiction. On August 28, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Chandramohan inspected the pandal near Kumar’s residence and confirmed the replacement.

Police said the move was prompted by outrage among devotees over the portrayal of the Chief Minister in the form of Lord Ganesh. Officers added that the inspection was part of regular festival-related checks across the city.
