PDO suffers head injury after hit by another PDO in Karnataka’s Hassan district

The Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of Hirisave panchayat in Channarayapatna taluk of Hassan district, Karnataka, suffered a head injury after he was hit by another PDO of neighbouring M. Shivara panchayat during a get-together at Govinakere in Channarayapatna taluk on Thursday night (August 28, 2025).

Mr. Sathish, PDO of Hirisave, suffered a head injury after he was attacked by Shivara panchayat PDO Ramaswamy. They were at a party at the residence of Ramu, a member of the Govinakere gram panchayat.

Mr. Sathish, in his complaint to Channaraypatna Rural Police, said that during the party, they had an argument over the recently held election to the Channarayapatna taluk unit of the State Government Employees’ Association. Ramaswamy picked up a liquor bottle and hit Sathish’s head. Based on Mr. Sathish’s statement, the police have registered a case on charges of attempt to murder.
