SIPPO to organise 45-day training for agri-startups

The Small Industries Product Promotion Organisation (SIPPO) is organising a 45-day free residential training for agri start-ups and agri business.

The objective of the programme is to provide quality private agricultural and allied extension services, to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities for the aspirants, said General Manager K Palalanivel Murugan on Saturday.

The SIPPO would provide free boarding and lodging for the participants, in the age group of 21 to 60 years. Training includes practical exposure on agriculture and applied sector based businesses, entrepreneurial marketing, accounts and finance, field and industrial visits and among others.

Aspirants with educational qualification in agri/ horti/ home science/ forestry and rural development science, fisheries, animal husbandry, food technology, food nutrition and agri-micro biology, post diploma in commercial horticulture, agri and allied subjects etc. would be eligible for the training programme.

Upon completion of the programme, the successful candidates would be offered loans of ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore for establishing their own businesses. The NABARD is giving subsidies depending on the eligibility, he added.
