The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala case on Sunday searched two service apartments at Tindlu and Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru where the complainant had stayed for some days.

The SIT first searched the room at the service apartment in Tindlu and then at the service apartment in Vidyaranyapura. A few incriminating materials were seized from the room.

After completing the searches, the SIT returned to Belthangady late on Sunday evening, the SIT sources said.

After questioning the complainant following his arrest for perjury on August 23, the SIT searched the houses of activist Mahesh Shetty Timarody and his brother Mohan Shetty where the complainant had stayed before his arrest.

The police seized two mobile phones, a storage device containing 21 videos of the complainant’s interview and other incriminating documents. The SIT carried out a search in the house of activist T. Jayanth in Bagalkunte in Bengaluru on Saturday.
