
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu handing over social pension to a bedridden woman beneficiary at Rajampeta of Annamayya district on Monday.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday took part in the NTR Bharosa social pension distribution programme at Boyinapalli village in Rajampeta mandal of Annamayya district.
On his arrival at the helipad in the afternoon, he was received by State Ministers Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy and B.C. Janardhan Reddy, Collector Sridhar Chamakuri, SP Vidyasagar Naidu, Railway Kodur MLA Arava Sridhar, TDP’s Rajampeta in-charge Chamarthi Jagan Mohan Raju, along with MLAs from Annamayya and Kadapa districts, officials, and NDA cadres. The Chief Minister personally handed over pensions to beneficiaries at their doorsteps in a couple of habitations in Rajampeta mandal.
Interacting with the beneficiaries, Mr. Naidu said the government had released ₹2,746.52 crore for the programme, covering a record 63.6 lakh beneficiaries across the State, including 7,872 new spouse pensions with an additional budget of ₹3.15 crore. He observed that visiting Rajampeta on Monday would remain a memorable event in his life, as it marked 30 years since he first became Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh on September 1, 1995.
At Peddakaram Palli village, the Chief Minister personally handed a pension to Sumitramma (65), a specially-disabled beneficiary. Speaking to the pensioners, he inquired whether they were receiving the benefits on time.
Later, Mr. Naidu visited the Dhobi Ghat in Boyinapalli and interacted with members of the Rajaka community. The washermen requested the construction of sheds and drying facilities. Responding to their appeal, the Chief Minister instructed officials to arrange the necessary infrastructure and other requirements at the ghat.
