Minister of HRD and IT Nara Lokesh, who initiated the AP Model of Education through reforms in the education sector, has received a special invitation from the Australian Government to participate in its Special Visits Programme (SVP).

Australian High Commissioner Philip Green, based in Delhi, has sent an official invitation letter to Mr. Lokesh.

Appreciating Andhra Pradesh’s leadership in the fields of human resources, technology, and economic development, the Australian Government requested Mr. Lokesh to be part of the programme.

It was also mentioned that in the last 20 years, several eminent Indian political leaders had toured Australia under this initiative, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took part in the SVP in 2001.

The SVP will provide an opportunity to Mr. Lokesh to meet key political leaders, education experts, business leaders, and members of the Indian diaspora in Australia. The visit will also facilitate discussions with Australia on Andhra Pradesh’s developmental priorities, particularly in the areas of education, skills, investments, aquaculture, and infrastructure.
