The Prajavani programme of the Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has received a total of 43 complaints on Monday, several of them about monsoon-related flooding and sewage entering colonies.

Residents from various colonies reported that flood and sewage waters are inundating their neighborhoods due to obstructed or poorly maintained sewerage canals. In Banjara Hills, a former official complained that the original 60-foot road is now reduced to a mere 20 feet.

Residents of Rangareddy district’s Gopannapalli village, from Muppas Green Grandeur Welfare Association raised alarm over encroachment and misuse of both small and large ponds. Venture owners have reportedly built roads over pond beds, and the discharge of sewage and garbage from surrounding gated communities has inflicted severe pollution—killing fish and leaving foul odor, they said.

In Saheb Kalan of Hayatnagar mandal, residents reported diversion of sewage canals into a nearby reserve forest and the submergence of colonies like Green City, Lumbini Elite, Gandhinagar, Snehamai Nagar, Akhilandeshwari, and Gandhinagar South.

In Madhapur Ayyappa Society in Serilingampalli mandal, Mega Hills, a 100-foot road has been blocked by debris and preventing drainage of sewage.

Representatives of Sayyid Masjid and graveyard of Jillelaguda in Balapur mandal complained and sought protection against encroachments.

In Pratapsingaram, Ghatkesar mandal, plot owners demanded removal of an illegal fence erected around 6.15 acres from within a previously cancelled layout, restoring access to roads and parks.
