Apple TV+ has unveiled the first trailer for Slow Horses Season 5, with Gary Oldman reprising his Emmy-nominated role as the abrasive but brilliant Jackson Lamb. The new six-episode season launches September 24, with weekly episodes rolling out through October 29.

Adapted from Mick Herron’s novel London Rules, the latest chapter finds Lamb and his team of sidelined MI5 agents once again stumbling into danger. This time, a string of unsettling incidents across London points to a series of interconnected terror plots. The squad’s investigation takes an unusual turn when suspicions arise about Roddy Ho’s (Christopher Chung) glamorous new girlfriend and her possible ties to the chaos.

The ensemble cast features returning stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, James Callis, Tom Brooke, and Jonathan Pryce. Newcomer Nick Mohammed, best known for Ted Lasso, will guest star this season.

Slow Horses has become one of Apple TV+’s most acclaimed dramas, earning nine Emmy nominations for its third season, including one win, and five more nods for Season 4. The spy series has already been renewed for Seasons 6 and 7, ensuring the misfit agents of Slough House will be on screens for years to come.

Behind the scenes, Season 5 marks a transition. The show is produced by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith, who recently announced his departure from the series after this installment. Saul Metzstein, nominated for an Emmy for his direction in Season 3, returns to helm the new season.
