Inban Udhayanidhi takes over Red Giant Movies; to release Dhanush’s ‘Idli Kadai’ in Tamil Nadu

Inban Udhayanidhi, son of Deputy Chief Minister and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, and the grandson of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, has taken over his father’s production banner, Red Giant Movies. The news was made official with the announcement that the banner has bagged the distribution rights of actor-director Dhanush’s upcoming film,Idli Kadai.

Dhanush announced the news on his official X handle and wished Inban on his new role.

According to reports, Inban isn’t merely becoming the distributor and the face of the banner, but is also taking over as the CEO.

Red Giant Movies, which began its journey as a producer with 2008’s Kuruvi and as a distributor with 2010’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, has become a major banner in Tamil Nadu. Recently, the banner co-produced Indian 2 and distributed films such as Vidaamuyarchi and Thug Life.

Idli Kadai, the fourth directorial of Dhanush, is slated to hit the screens on October 1. The film stars Nithya Menen and Arun Vijay in prominent roles. Nithya is reuniting with Dhanush after their hit movie Thiruchitrambalam (2022).

With music scored by GV Prakash Kumar, the film has cinematography by Kiran Koushik and editing by Prasanna GK. The film is produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films in association with Aakash Baskaran’s Dawn Pictures.
