The ganja seized from Dhanurjay Khara and Kamal Laichan Khila

The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW), Pallikaranai, of Tambaram City Police has arrested two men from Odisha and seized 101 kg of ganja from them.
On Wednesday (September 3, 2025) morning, PEW officers mounted surveillance at Perumbakkam, near Arasankazhani Erikarai, and apprehended Dhanurjay Khara, 34, and Kamal Laichan Khila, 24, both from Odisha, based on a tip-off. Upon searching them, the police seized ganja and two mobile phones.
According to the police, they worked as daily wage labourers in the city, and on being interrogated, they confessed to purchasing ganja from Odisha to supply it to labourers and residents in and around the Kannagi Nagar, Perumbakkam, and Pallikaranai areas.
They were remanded to judicial custody after being produced in a court.
