Officials in Sri Sathya Sai and Chittoor districts have intensified monitoring and surveillance to ensure an uninterrupted supply of urea to farmers as the agricultural season touched its peak.

In the Sri Sathya Sai district, Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar instructed officials to closely monitor stock points and distribution procedures at both government and private outlets. He said that the demand-supply details should be compulsorily updated daily on the IFMS portal, while the field staff at the village-level must supervise the sales to prevent hoarding or diversion of stocks.

A Command Control Room was set up at the District Training Centre, with helplines 9177768274 and 9948224545 for farmer queries and to receive complaints.

In Chittoor, Collector Sumit Kumar released the urea bulletin on Friday, stating that 2,600 metric tonnes of stock is currently available, which includes 1,500 tonnes at the Rythu Seva Kendras, 800 tonnes at Markfed godowns, 307 tonnes at private outlets, and 28 tonnes at PACS/DCMS centres.

The Collector said that another 2,500 tonnes of stock will be arriving in Chittoor within 10 days. Mr. Sumit Kumar appealed to the farmers to purchase fertilizers only through Aadhaar-authenticated biometric transactions. He advised them to avoid overuse to curtail the risk of pest attacks.
