Space City, on the lines of SpaceX, to come up near Tirupati

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced the launch of Space City, on the lines of U.S.-based space technology company SpaceX, near Tirupati.

He made the announcement while highlighting the upcoming projects and the achievements of the State in the last one year, at the National Mediation Conference held here on Friday.

Mr. Naidu said that in the last one year, the State government has mobilised U.S. $100 billion investments into Andhra Pradesh. ‘‘In the next one month, Google is coming to Visakhapatnam, while TCS is already here, and Cognizant is also joining very soon,’‘ he said.

The U.S. has Silicon Valley and now India has started Quantum Valley. ‘‘The first quantum computer will operate from Amaravati by January 1, making us the sixth country to use quantum computing,’‘ he announced.

‘’Earlier, we used to admire space achievements (of other countries) watching them on TV. Now, we are creating a Space City near Tirupati. Just like America has SpaceX, we will soon launch private satellites from our Space City,’‘ he said, adding India’s largest drone city is being established near Kurnool.
