Vizag steel plant worker dies after falling off stairs

A worker of the RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) died after falling off the stairs of the coke oven platform on the plant premises on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Ch. Appalanaidu (48), a senior worker of Multitech Construction Agency, said the VSP sources.

Sources said that Appalanaidu was climbing down from the platform he was working to the ground floor when he fell off the stairs that were damaged. Union leaders said that around six contractors have died on the plant premises in the last two months.
