IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh on Saturday (September 6, 2025) said that the Andhra Pradesh government had set a target to provide overseas job opportunities to 50,000 candidates in the next five years through the Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP).

As part of the ‘International Placement Scheme (Nursing Professionals)‘, jointly implemented by SEEDAP, Indo-Euro Synchronisation and German Healthcare partners, 14 nursing and healthcare professionals have received offer letters for jobs in leading hospitals in Germany.

Mr. Lokesh felicitated these professionals at a programme organised at Undavalli on Saturday.

He said the SEEDAP had trained 171 candidates in the first batch. Of them, 40 had been placed so far and 14 were ready to fly to Germany. The remaining candidates were at the various stages of their training and would also secure jobs soon.

He said the young candidates, most of them from rural backgrounds, were undergoing training under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY). The initiative is a part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), aiming at adding diversity to the incomes of the rural poor and catering to the career aspirations of the rural youth.

Mr. Lokesh advised the candidates going to Germany to inspire at least 10 other people, as overseas jobs would transform their families’ economic condition. Informing that the training in foreign languages (German, Japanese) will start soon, he said the proposed Skill Portal will be launched this month to integrate training and job opportunities.
