Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath on Sunday said that to showcase the cultural, historical and tourism potential of the city nationwide, a grand event titled “Vijayawada Utsav” is being held from September 22 to October 2. The event is organised by the Society for Vibrant Vijayawada, with the support of the State government.
Speaking at a curtain raiser event of the festival at Murali Gardens, Mr. Sivanath expressed hope that the festival will attract investments, create jobs and will help Vijayawada transform into a major business hub. He said that as part of the mega festival, a series of events would be held at the Krishna riverfront, Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Ghantasala Music College, Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium and Gollapudi Exhibition Ground.
Film actresses Samyuktha Menon, Divi Vadthya and Manasa Varanasi and Kishkindhapuri movie actors Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Anupama Parameswaran were present on the occasion.
A dance presentation by Madhumitha and team and verses from Lord Krishna’s message performed by A.P. Nataka Academy Chairman Gummadi Gopalakrishna enthralled the audience. Swachhandhra Corporation Chairman K. Pattabiram anchored the event.
A logo of the Utsav was also launched. Besides, an Utsav trailer, an official website, social medial handles, merchandise, an AI-based guide and a poster on Swachhathon Marathon and helicopter ride were launched.
Bapatla MP T. Krishna Prasad, MLAs Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, Gadde Ramamohan, Bode Prasad, Sriram Rajagopal and Tangirala Soumya, Tourism Corporation Chairman N. Balaji, KDC Bank chairman N. Raghuram and others were present. The leaders appealed to the people of Vijayawada to take active part in the events and make it a grand success.
