Around sixty teams, each made up of 3-4 members took part at The Hindu’s Made of Chennai Treasure Hunt on wheels on Sunday afternoon.
This adventure started off at The Hindu office before leading them through eight distinct locations including Marina beach swimming pool, Parthasarathy temple, Sathyam cinemas, Anna Centenary library, Kathipara Urban square, Pallavaram weekly market, Casagrand Massimo and ending with Casagrand Osaka in Iyyapanthangal.

“The idea of the treasure hunt is essentially to get people to discover Chennai in a new way. Like every city, our city is also made up of not just places but experiences. We have charted out iconic locations of Chennai and at each stop, the participants will solve a unique puzzle that will unlock their clue to their next destination,” said Venky Srinivasan, curator of the Treasure Hunt at the beginning of the event.
This treasure hunt made the participants do tasks that were the essence of Chennai while they were navigating from one point to another. From taking a selfie with an auto rickshaw to trying local delicacies at some of well-known food streets, Chennaiites had to complete these intriguing tasks as part of the puzzle to win the treasure hunt.
“We really had fun today in these 3 hours while also winning the treasure. The clues, puzzles and road challenges were very well thought through. We are looking forward to participating next year too,” said the winning team of the treasure hunt Lost and Found, which includes Nandini, Vijayakumar, Ramchandra Kanth, Shruti and Advick. Kommineni.
“What was absolutely thrilling was we went to so many of these places around Chennai in just this evening alone, because of this treasure hunt,” added the runner-up team Manthra, Manikandan, Maanya and Sashank of Family Quest.
The Hindu Made of Chennai is presented by Casagrand.
