Drunk man falls to death while trying to climb gate

A 54-year-old man from Bhongir died in the early hours of Sunday when he fell down while trying to climb the gate of his house in an inebriated condition.

Bhongir police said that the incident took place at around 1 a.m. in Tajpur village. “The deceased, identified as Gundlapalli Srinivas, tried to leave his house when his wife stopped him and locked the gate. In an attempt to climb it, he slipped and suffered severe injuries on his head and face,” police said.

He was taken to Bhongir Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A case has been registered and an investigation is under way based on a complaint lodged by Srinivas’s wife.
