Over a score of small-time traders who sell vegetables on roadside dumped vegetables on A.A. Road after Virudhunagar municipality did not permit them to set up their shops on the roadside, on Monday.
The traders claimed that they had been putting their shops on Mondays on A.A. Road for the past several months.
They claim that traders from various parts of the district sell fresh vegetables at a cheaper rate. However, suddenly the police blocked them based on the instruction from municipal authorities.
The traders also lodged a complaint with Collector N.O. Sukhaputra.
Later, when the municipal authorities suggested them to put their shops on municipal ground, they rejected it.
