A Town Planning Officer of Narsingi municipality was arrested by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹4 lakh. The officer, identified as S. Mani Harika, of was trapped by officials of the City Range-2 Unit in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
According to the ACB, Mani Harika alias Money Harika demanded ₹10 lakh from a complainant in exchange of processing and issuance of Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) proceedings for regularisation of the complainant’s open plot located in Manchirevula village.

Officials confirmed that the bribe amount was recovered at her instance.
Following the operation, she was arrested and produced before a court, which remanded her to judicial custody.
The case is currently under investigation.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has urged citizens to come forward with information about any demands for illegal gratification by public servants. Citizens can contact the ACB through its toll-free number 1064, or via WhatsApp, Facebook and X. The Bureau has assured that the identity of complainants will be kept confidential and that credible information will be acted upon swiftly.
