Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P K. Sekarbabu on Tuesday said that work to reconstruct the temple for Saint Tiruvalluvar in Mylapore in the city was progressing well. The project was being carried out at a cost of ₹19.17 crore. A block meant to house archakas for Rs. 2 crore had been opened, he added after inspecting the site. As part of the renovation, a library, a parking lot, and a golden lotus tank would come up. The works are expected to be completed in a couple of months, said a press release here.
