A speeding SUV on Tuesday crashed into a roadside shop killing an elderly couple at SC Colony near Bramheswaram village in Duttalur mandal of SPSR Nellore district.
The deceased were identified as 65-year-old shop owner Parasuboyina Venkatesvarulu and his 61-year-old wife Parasuboyina Swarnalatha. The bodies were sent to Udayagiri government hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
The person driving the SUV was injured in the accident while another person in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. Duttalur police officials arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to the hospital.
The police booked the driver of the SUV under Section 106 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death through rash or negligent acts that don’t amount to culpable homicide. According to the locals, the driver was in an inebriated condition and was unable to control the speeding vehicle.
