The Coimbatore City Police have announced traffic diversions and restrictions in the city on September 30 in view of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s visit.
Buses and heavy vehicles entering the city from Salem, Erode and Tiruppur will not be allowed to enter via Neelambur. They can instead use the Neelambur Bypass, Chinthamanipudur, Ondipudur and Singanallur routes.
Light motor vehicles entering the city from Neelambur can also use the Neelambur Bypass–Chinthamanipudur–Ondipudur–Singanallur route.
Restrictions have also been announced for vehicles leaving the city through Avinashi Road. Buses and heavy vehicles can take a U-turn at Lakshmi Mills Junction and proceed via Puliyakulam, Ramanathapuram and Singanallur to the Neelambur Bypass.
Light motor vehicles coming via Avinashi Road can use Masakkalipalayam Road to reach Singanallur. Vehicles from Hope College can take a U-turn at Tidel Park Junction and proceed via Kamarajar Road to reach Singanallur.
Heavy vehicles from Kalapatti Junction towards Sitra and Avinashi Road can use the Thennampalayam route. Heavy vehicles coming from Goldwins towards Avinashi Road can turn right at Maruthi Bakery Junction on Housing Unit Road and proceed via Vilankurichi Road towards Kalapatti Junction.
Passengers travelling to the airport have been advised to reach the airport 30 minutes before their scheduled travel time. Taxis and other vehicles will not be permitted to park inside the airport on September 30.
Heavy vehicles will be completely prohibited from entering the city between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on September 30.
