Director of National Commission for Scheduled Castes S. Ravivarman called on the victim of a caste attack here at Government Rajaji Hospital on Monday.

Mr. Ravivarman, along with research officer NCSC S. Lister and other officials inquired about the youth’s health with the doctors of GRH and instructed them to provide the necessary treatment for speedy recovery.

Mr. Lister said, they also instructed the police to provide security for the victim and apprehend all those involved in the caste attack.

Further, police were also directed to book those who attack or involve in activities preventing the activism of SC people, immediately under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, he added.

The team also visited the house of the victim and investigated the place the attack happened in Melur.

Saravanan, Resident Medical Officer, GRH, Pandiaraja, member of Vigilance and Monitoring committee, among others, accompanied the team.
