Course inauguration
Centre for Students Welfare of Nadar Saraswathi College of Arts and Science (NSCAS), Theni, organised ‘Inauguration of UPSC / TNPSC Foundation Course’, to create awareness and provide basic guidance to students aspiring for Civil Services and State Government Examinations. It aims to introduce students to the examination pattern, syllabus, and effective preparation strategies.
The course covers important subjects such as Indian Polity, History, Geography, Economics, Science and Technology, Current Affairs, and General Studies. Special emphasis was given to understanding the exam structure, time management, answer writing skills, and regular practice through tests.
Experienced faculty members guided the students with clear explanations and practical tips.
Motivational sessions were also organised. Vice principal Susheela Sankar proposed a vote of thanks.

Youth Red Cross of NSCAS, Theni, holds an awareness programme on Drug Abuse and Suicide Prevention.

In another program, NSCAS, Youth Red Cross (YRC) organised an awareness program on Drug Abuse and Suicide Prevention. It aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Speaking at the event, district YRC organiser R. Lavanya highlighted the increasing challenges faced by young people due to peer pressure, stress, academic burden, and a lack of emotional support. Founder of Hope Psychiatry Clinic Dr. Ruth S. Manoranjan, motivated the students to continue humanitarian service with dedication and empathy. Students were encouraged to reach out to teachers, counsellors, or trusted individuals whenever they face difficulties.
International conference
The Departments of Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, and Mathematics of Theni Kammavar Sangam College of Arts and Science are jointly organised a two-day International Conference on ‘Computing Technologies, Innovations, and Real-World Applications’, titled ICCTIRA ‘25.
NCC troop inauguration

Mother Teresa Women’s University (MTWU) inaugurated its National Cadet Corps (NCC) Troop under the 14 (TN) Battalion NCC.
Speaking at the event, registrar (i/c) P. Jeyapriya, explained the role of NCC in nurturing discipline, leadership, and a spirit of service among students.
Vice-chancellor K. Kala highlighted the importance of NCC in shaping students’ character, leadership qualities, and national responsibility.
Chief guest Lt. Col. S. Jagadeesan, Officer Commanding, 14 (TN) Battalion NCC, emphasised the significance of NCC in empowering young minds and instilling patriotism and civic responsibility.
An oath-taking ceremony was also held.

Dindigul Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) organised an Awareness and Counselling Programme on the theme ‘Safe Work Today, Secure Life Tomorrow: Motivational Training for Construction Workers’ under the Skill Training Programme Scheme for unorganised construction workers.
Speaking at the event, principal Rajarajan highlighted the importance of skill development, workplace safety, and social security for construction workers.
Chief guest and resource person, Associate Professor P. Ravichandran, provided counselling and practical guidance on health and hygiene, the importance of regular medical check-ups, saving and financial discipline, environmental safety at work sites, and awareness of various government welfare schemes and benefits available for unorganised construction workers.
Training officer Jeyakumar coordinated and proposed a vote of thanks.
Nearly 100 registered unorganised construction workers actively participated.
Placement training
Training and Placement cell of Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College, Mettamalai, Sattur, conducts job placement training workshop.

A job placement training workshop for final-year students was conducted by the Training and Placement cell of Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College, Mettamalai, Sattur. It focused on employability skills and was conducted through presentations and practical examples. Trainers R. Thirupurasundari and G. Ramprasad from Mahindra Training Institute conducted the session, with assistance from the Nandi Foundation. Principal N. Subburaj distributed certificates to over 300 participants. The Program was co-ordinated by co-ordinator E.D. Punitha Jothi.

Equitas Gurukul Matric Higher Secondary School celebrated ‘Orange Colour Day’ for Kindergarten children to have high recognition skills and understanding that colours are part of a child’s cognitive development.
Reunion held
Twenty-one alumni from the 1996–2000 batch of Bachelor of Technology (Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering) programme at the Centre for Education, Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, gathered for their silver jubilee reunion on Sunday and Monday. They have gone on to become research scientists, industry leaders and managers across fields including electrochemistry, materials science, semiconductor manufacturing, batteries and fuel cells, electronics, information technology, management and journalism.
During the reunion, they felicitated their former teachers. The professors and teachers welcomed the alumni and spoke about alumni collaborations with CECRI’s researchers and students. They also asked the visiting alumni to mentor the current cohorts of students as they prepare to enter various professions after graduation.
