A member of Kumari Kanaka Paravaigal Kaanikaran Nadanam, who arrived in Thoothukudi along with his troupe to perform at the ‘Neithal’ folk arts festival, died after he reportedly fainted while getting ready for the performance on Saturday.
According to police, R. Prashanth, 33, from Pechiparai in Kanniyakumari district fainted while getting ready for the performance and was taken to Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A case was registered at Thoothukudi South Police station and the body was sent for post-mortem examination on Sunday. Further investigation is on.
