The Pookuzhi festival of Periya Mariamman temple here attracted hundreds of devotees who took up the fire-walk on Wednesday.
Having observed fasting for several days, the devotees, draped in yellow dresses, courageously walked through the red-hot embers as part of fulfilling their vows to the presiding deity.
