The police nabbed a 17-year-old juvenile after he threatened his classmate with a sickle in public view and allegedly attempted to attack him on the busy Karur bypass here a few days ago.
A clip of the incident went viral on social media platform raising eyebrows. Both were class XII students of a private school in Tiruchi.
In the clip, the juvenile could be seen threatening his classmate in school uniform with a sickle and chasing him while the latter was returning home on a bicycle. The boy in the school uniform tried to evade the assault. The altercation between the two boys is said to be because of personal issues. The juvenile apparently had not been attending school for sometime.
Acting on information, the Woraiyur police apprehended the juvenile and booked a case against him. The juvenile was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board here. An undertaking was obtained from the juvenile’s parents before being let off, said the police.
