Intense heat continued to grip several parts of Telangana on Friday (May 22, 2026) with a total of 16 districts recording maximum temperature above 46β, according to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).

Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad was the hottest location in the State recording a maximum temperature of 46.5β. This was followed by 46.4β in Dharmapuri (Jagtial), Gangadhara (Karimnagar), Kasipet (Mancherial), Yergatla (Nizamabad), Kamanpur (Peddapalli), Konaraopeta (Rajanna Sircilla), Mothey (Suryapet), 46.3β in Kamalapur (Hanumakonda), Mogullapally (Jayshankar Bhupalpally), Khammam (Khammam), Eturunagaram (Mulugu), Khanapur (Nirmal), 46.2β in Thorrur (Mahabubabad), Koheda (Siddipet) and Parvathagiri (Warangal). Chilpur in Jangaon recorded a maximum temperature of 45.8β and Indervelly in Adilabad recorded 45.6β.
The districts which recorded temperatures below 45β are 44.5β in Nakrekal (Nalgonda), 43.9β in Madnur (Kamareddy), 43.3β in Bhongir (Yadadri Bhuvangiri), 41.7β in Papannapet (Medak), 40.7β in Asifnagar (Hyderabad), 40.5β in Gandipet (Rangareddy) and 40.3β in Alwal (Medchal Malkajgiri).
The districts which recorded temperatures below 40β are 39.6β in Ameenapur (Sangareddy), 39.3β in Kalwakurthy (Nagarkurnool), 39β in Koilkonda (Mahabubnagar), 38.6β in Ieeja (Jogulamba Gadwal), 38.6β in Madanapur (Wanaparthy), 38.1β in Kotepally (Vikarabad) and 37.8β in Kothapalle (Narayanpet).
