“Through several targeted attacks against the minorities in the name of religion, the BJP and the Sangh Parivar are on a mission to fragment the State into religious segments,” said Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan.

Speaking at a protest organised by the VCK here on Monday against the BJP and the Sangh Parivar organisations for inciting violence based on religion, he said, “The RSS’s plan is specifically to turn Hindus into paupers, and the Sangh Parivar organisations, by intimidating the minorities, have been trying to incite communal frenzy in the State.”

For those who claimed that Mr. Thirumavalavan was interfering in the Thirupparankundram issue for political mileage, he said: “I possess the merit of being one who has been fighting to ensure that people are not divided in the name of religion or caste. There are so many issues affecting the Hindus in Tamil Nadu. Have those belonging to the BJP, the RSS, Hindu organisations, or the Sangh Parivar ever fought for them? Have they ever fought for sanitation workers, who are also Hindus?.”

“You cannot turn Thirupparankundram into another Ayodhya. Here, we, the democratic forces, are the majority. I am not speaking or spewing politics of hate against anyone. We are exposing the actions of the BJP and RSS. We are revealing the act of deceiving Hindus,” Mr. Thirumavalavan stated.

Commenting on Vijay’s criticism of the DMK as an ‘evil force,’ Mr. Thirumavalavan said, “We are not worried about that, but, through your activities, it is evident that you have started a party for the sake of the RSS, which aims to defeat the DMK.” Challenging Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam to destroy the democratic forces in Tamil Nadu, he said, it had been exposed that NTK leader Seeman and Vijay were also the tools of the RSS.

“The DMK members may remain tight-lipped or stay silent; there may be many reasons for that. But we, who speak the politics of social justice and follow Ambedkar’s principles, will not remain silent,” he added. If the BJP’s claimed that the VCK was for the seats in the DMK alliance, they would not be fighting the RSS and the BJP based on the ideologies of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Periyar, he noted.

“The mere political power does not matter to us; what really matters is out fight against the enemies of secularism and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s principles,” he added.
