Kakatiya University (KU), Warangal, Vice-Chancellor K. Pratap Reddy said that all arrangements were in place for the 23rd convocation of the varsity, scheduled for Monday. Governor and University Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma will preside over the convocation, while IICT Director D. Srinivas Reddy will be the chief guest. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 1:15 p.m.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the Vice-Chancellor said that a total of 564 gold medals and 387 Ph.D.s will be awarded across various faculties. They include 60 gold medals and 56 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Arts, 161 gold medals and 96 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Science, 48 gold medals and 21 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Pharmacy, 66 gold medals and 49 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Management, 88 gold medals and 133 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Social Sciences, 25 gold medals and 18 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Education, 72 gold medals and 4 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Law, and 44 gold medals and 10 Ph.D.s in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
“To ensure the success of the convocation, a steering committee and 10 sub-committees have been formed, each comprising 10 members, including a convener and co-convener. These committees, consisting of teaching and non-teaching staff, are working hard to make the ceremony successful,” the VC added.
Registrar V. Ramchandram and Controller of Examinations Katla Rajender were present at the media briefing.
