Under-construction shed collapses at Simhachalam

A major accident was averted as an under-construction shed being built to provide shade for the devotees at the ‘Tholi Pavancha’ for the upcoming Giri Pradakshina festival, scheduled to be held on July 9 at Simhachalam, collapsed on Saturday. Fortunately, no persons were nearby at the time.

Responding to the incident, the temple executive officer (EO) V. Trinadh Rao said that the collapse occurred when the contractor was taking up works with an earthmover. He said that directions have been given to remove them immediately, and the Collector had been informed.
