Private school Tamil teachers get refresher training

The School education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Monday inaugurated a refresher course on Tamil for private school teachers in Chennai. Over 1,200 teachers from across the educational boards will be taking the one-day training on prose, poetry and grammar. According to an official from the School Education Department, the course focuses on new teaching methodologies that could be used in the classrooms as students have to take up Tamil language exam in Class 10. “It’s been split into five sessions and are taught by subject experts from any of the boards,” the official added. The Minister had announced in the Legislative Assembly earlier this year about providing training to Tamil teachers from private schools to enhance their teaching methods.
