Two minor siblings, travelling pillion with their father, were killed after the bike they were on collided with a lorry near Poraiyur junction, near Villianur, in Puducherry on Tuesday (July 8, 2025) morning.
The police identified the deceased as N. Jeeva, 14, and N. Dhuvarakesh, 8, residents of Thondamanatham. The accident occurred when they were riding pillion with their father to the Government Higher Secondary School at Mutharaiyar, where they studied.
Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar Tripathi said while the children died on the spot, their father escaped unhurt. A case has been registered, and investigation was under way, he said.
