Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of orchestrating a conspiracy to stall the State’s development and malign its image.

The Chief Minister, who chaired the Cebnet meeting on Wednesday, reportedly took serious note of reports that nearly 200 domestic and international companies had received misleading emails, discouraging them from investing in Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) bonds.

Mr. Naidu came down heavily on the YSRCP, accusing it of routinely resorting to behind-the-scenes sabotage, misinformation, and financial obstructionism.

“This is not just political mischief. This is an economic betrayal of the people of Andhra Pradesh,” Mr. Naidu said and ordered a full-fledged investigation into the issue.

He asked the Ministers to expose the YSRCP’s ‘toxic tactics’ and take the truth to the people, sources said.

The issue was brought to light by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, who alleged that these emails were sent as part of a politically motivated smear campaign driven by the YSRCP loyalists.

Mr. Keshav presented what he called ‘conclusive evidence’ linking the YSRCP to the malicious campaign aimed at derailing investments and damaging the ‘Brand Andhra Pradesh’.

Ministers told to be proactive

Mr. Naidu expressed displeasure over the poor performance of his Cabinet colleagues at the meeting, remarking that none of them were delivering satisfactory results.

Mr. Naidu questioned their silence on sensitive issues, particularly their failure to respond when a woman MLA was insulted—a moment he described as ‘deeply disappointing’.

He suggested all Ministers remain alert and responsive to unfolding political developments, warning that complacency would not be tolerated.

“In a dynamic political climate, silence is complicity,” Mr. Naidu is reported to have said, demanding more proactiveness and accountability from his Cabinet colleagues.
