Thoothukudi Collector inaugurates a new building at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Kovilpatti.

Thoothukudi District Collector K. Elambahavath inaugurated P. Soosaiammal memorial building at the Government Girls Higher Secondary in Kovilpatti on Saturday.
He applauded the Head Master’s commendable contribution of ₹10 lakh, which she had received as a cash prize last year. The amount significantly helped in completing the construction of the school building, along with the contribution from other staff members. He added that the staff of the school are working with great dedication, resulting in an increase in both student enrolment and pass percentage.
The Collector noted that the students are also making continuous efforts to pursue higher education. He praised the school for its excellent leadership and commitment of all its teachers, who are actively supporting the students. He further mentioned that an additional space has been earmarked for the construction of a new building, and all necessary infrastructure facilities will be provided at the school.
Directorate of School Education S. Kannappan, Kovilpatti Revenue Divisional Officer Mahalashmi and other officials were present at the event.
